Our Summer of Ministry, 2010, launched with our June Bible Camp for Orphans, as we hosted 34 orphans from Ukraine and Latvia. The day was purposefully filled with Bible lessons on various topics, small group time, crafts, games and activities, and in the evening, movies with strong biblical messages.

To watch these precious children change before your eyes was an incredible honor...and joining us to lead were our national staff, plus several of our leadership team members from Ukraine, Belarus and Latvia, and five adult orphans who are a part of our ‘Fresh Start’ transition program. For the adult orphans, it was the opportunity to ‘give back’ and impact the younger orphans, serving as examples of what God can do in their lives if they would trust in Him….it was incredibly dynamic to see the impact!
Nine orphans prayed to receive Christ into their hearts the very first day....can you hear the rejoicing in heaven in the presence of the angels?
Besides our Russian leadership team, serving with us were Americans from Summit Church, Hope Community Church (in Raleigh) and Southside Baptist Church (in High Point), a tremendous help, coming alongside of our nationals in ministry!
Below are pictures sampling the day in camp….thank you for your prayers and your financial support that is helping to change lives!

The topical lesson on "Truth, Honesty and Integrity," included the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, acted out by our Russian leadership team.

Yanna, 11, an orphan from Bakchesseri orphanage, and Sezoza, 11, an orphan from Jonkoi orphanage watch and listen intently at the Bible lesson

Nadya, 13, from Bakchesseri orphanage, follows along in her new Bible as scriptures are given to illustrate every point in the lesson

Yanna, 11, takes good notes, as campers will fill one, and oftentimes two 80 page notebooks with notes, writing everything they can down during camp, so they will have it to review once back at the orphanage
Lyuba Navrostskaya, one of our Leadership team members, teaches the lesson on 'Faith.' Lyuba is from Kharkov, Ukraine, came to Christ through the evangelism team when she was 11, and 'grew up' spiritually through these very camps. Now she is leading others...
Lesya, 14, an orphan from Gvardyehskoyeh orphanage, carefully works on her craft. There is a craft activity selected every day that connects to the Bible lesson
Small group time is a special time for the orphans as they can share what they are learning, ask questions, and begin to take ownership of the biblical principles taught that day. Tori Summers, from Summit Church, helps lead, teaming with Agnessa Moroz, Minsk, Belarus.
